"I am a Polo player and have always been in love with sports.
I lived in Germany for 25 years and when I arrived in Brazil, I got to know Polo in Rio de Janeiro’s military village, back in 1997.
In those days there weren’t many women polo players playing in Brazil, so I learned with the militaries the ins and outs of polo.
My mentors were, the lieutenant Honorato, who played 5 Gol in Brazil and colonel Mario Gonzales, who played 7 gols. I appreciate their deep knowledge and admiration for the sport.
Since then I have kept improving my polo skills in Brazil and abroad, unlocking the secrets of this noble game.
I realized early enough that talent would not be enough to play Polo, so I focused on developing my technique and really understanding the rules. Mixing theory and practice, I categorically improved my field results.
It was after focusing on polo animals themselves, studying their morphology, caring, preparing and taming, that I noticed a significant raise in my results.
Still, none of this would be enough.
More than fifty percent of Polo success is owed to our noble friends, the horses. Without them to convert our knowledge into action, we are nothing in the field.
While searching for the right horse, I had opportunities of experimenting several mounts, of different values and levels. Each year past, the beasts that really helped me get a better handicap, were always above a cost of six digits, something beyond my financial reach.
So I decided to bet on my own breeding, mixing genes from Raza Puro Sange Polo Argentino with PSI.
I researched and consulted with breeders, but my lack of experience and structure to maintain the numerous demands that would lead to success, were draining me a lot of money and time. I was beginning to consider quitting, when by pure chance, I was invited by my friend and polo player Fransisco de Paula, also known as “Kiko”, to be a part in this project, creating specific, on demand polo horses for women players. With his infrastructure, experience and passion, we set out to allow players a democratic access to the best specimens a polo player can have. With full transparency and a nonprofit organization, we shall share all information related to the whole process of creation, taming and caring, up to reaching Hand Cup level.
It is up to us, women, to accept the challenge and go for it, doing what we know. Believing in our creation and having fun, following step by step, since choosing the genetics for our horse, naming him, until taming and first competitions. All of this backed by 4-HER society.
Together we can prepare ourselves to receive our high level handicap players and learn with them more about the correct mount and what makes it safer, better, guaranteeing a better result in the field. Allowing for even better horses in the future.
Learning about equipment that better connects us with our horses, permitting faster commands at the right time. Of international rules and their interpretation, past to us by professionals in person or online, during the whole year, so we can really extract more from our “Polo Mercedes”.
In the Polo fields we hope you can experiment the pleasure of playing on the back of mares and stallions that will be ahead of time but within our grasp.
Each one will use their own “machine” in the speed they feel comfortable with, since they will be prepared to go 400km/h!
It true! Come check it out!
To conclude, I cannot forget to mention the seventh time, where we will have fun while bonding polo players from all of the world with 4HER - Breeding Society."
